Gujarat CM kicks off various welfare works & hands over affordable houses to beneficiaries in Vadodara

Ahmedabad, Tuesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel today handed over 1,092 houses to the beneficiaries under Mukhya Mantri Gruh Yojana at Tarsali-Manjalpura area in Vadodara. The earthquake-proof buildings have been built by Gujarat Housing Board at a cost of Rs. 163 crore. On the occasion, CM Smt. Patel said that the state government has planned to construct housing with all modern facilities for the people and the government is moving ahead with a faster pace to implement the scheme. Over 5 lakh houses have been handed over to the common people with proper planning, she added. She also dedicated several projects including a CNG filling station constructed by Vadodara Gas Limited at a cost of Rs. 18.5 crore. Also, she inaugurated several projects like the renovation of Sindhusagar Lake at a cost of Rs. 6.80 crore, a new drainage gravity line at a cost of Rs. 14.69 crore, construction of a drainage system for rain water parallel to the highway under the AMRUT initiative at a cost of Rs. 28 crore, construction of 78 sewage treatment plans with MLD capabilities at a cost of Rs. 105 crore and the zonal office of western zone built on the concept of Green building at a cost of 4.75 crores.

CM Smt. Patel also praised Municipal Corporation officials for their work on diagnosis and treatment of 1247 pregnant women to ensure their good health. She also added that the government is doing immense work to realize the concept of smart cities by considering all aspects of citizens’ happiness and incorporating them in the government’s initiatives and planning. CM Smt. Patel also informed about the health initiatives taken up by the government like the free screening and treatment of women for cancer, expansion of the number of available diagnosis tests at government health care centers and the steps taken to ensure that no child in the state suffers from malnutrition.

CM Smt. Patel stated that the government has launched housing schemes in various categories to provide affordable housing to the people of different income group. Gujarat Government has paid special attention to human development index, she added. Alongside, CM Smt. Patel laid the foundation for six developmental works of Vadodara Municipal Corporation worth Rs. 178 crore including storm drainage system works and assured people that the construction work of the projects will be completed soon.

On the occasion MP Smt. Ranjanben Bhatt, Mayor Shri. Bharatbhai Dangar, MLAs Shri. Yogeshbhai Patel, Shri. JitubhaiSukhadiya, Rajeshree Trivedi, Smt. ManishabenVakil, VUDA Chairman Shri. Naranbhai and various other dignitaries remained present.
