Gujarat CM attends ‘Nutan Mandir Mahotsav’ at Piplana, sensitizes women about various welfare initiatives of Gujarat government

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today attended Nutan Mandir Mahotsav and offered prayers at Shri Swaminarayan Mandir at Piplana, the place where Lord Swaminarayan obtained ‘Diksha’ in Junagadh district.

Addressing a huge gathering of women, CM Smt Patel exhorted women to fight against female foeticide and urged them to obtain maximum benefits of Gujarat government’s health initiatives.

On the occasion, CM Smt Patel said that great people have guided us to respect women and the state has been following their path. She appealed the gathering to fulfill social responsibility by following Sahajanand Swami’s ideology for women empowerment and upliftment. She added that the state government has been actively working to promote girl child birth and have achieved good results so far. She took pledge for women safety, education and toilets in every house.

CM Smt Patel informed the gathering that the state government has decided to give 10 acre land at 10% of Jantri rate for the benefit of farmers to agro co-operative bodies of the state.

During her visit to Junagadh, CM Smt Patel unveiled a book ‘Piplana Mahatmya’ translated in Hindi by Dr. Chotaliya and launched Junagadh Tourism Mobile Application developed by district administration.

At a time CM Smt Patel also dedicated and laid foundation stone for various developmental works worth Rs. 24.25 crore. She also announced allocation of Rs. 254 crore for Junagadh Medical College.

MLAs Shri Mahendrabhai Mashru, Shri Chimanbhai Sapariya, Shri Arvindbhai Ladani, Mayor Shri Jitubhai Hirpara and others were present on the occasion.
