Gujarat CM Calls ‘Lok Samvad Setu’ a Bridge Between Government and People at Junagadh

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel conducted taluka level Lok Samvad Setu program at Shamaldas Gandhi Town Hall in Junagadh today and personally resolved the local issues on the spot as a part of Gatisheel administrative approach of the state government.

After hearing about 62 issues related to various governmental departments, CM Smt Patel instructed concerned officials to take immediate action to bring satisfactory solution. She said that the effort of this unique ‘Lok Samvad Setu’ is to build a bridge between the government and the people through dialogue.

CM Smt Patel took the issue of harassment of farmers by anti-social or mafias seriously and instructed DSP to take stringent action against such elements, howsoever influential they are, to stop the nuisance. She told people not to be afraid of such miscreants and advised to immediately inform police for protection. She assured that the problems of the farmers would be heard seriously.

With reference to poor construction quality of public development works, CM Smt Patel gave necessary instructions to district authority to take strict action against the contractor, even to the extent of blacklisting such contractor.

CM Smt Patel announced that Divyang citizens will now get lifetime ‘Disability Certificate’, which will relieve them from the hassle of renewing certificate every 5 years. She also declared that considering the demand of JUDA residents, under the new electricity tariff, relaxing per unit electricity cost, consumers under Urban Dev Authority will now be charged as per Residential General Purpose Rural Tariff. She also instructed officials to make pre-arrangements to ensure no citizen of Gujarat is deprived of drinking water during the peak summer time. Though no one raised the issue during the program, she directed officials to carry out deepening and maintenance of farm ponds as well as check dams at regular intervals.

In this program, Junagadh Mayor Shri Jitubhai Hirpara, MLAs Shri Mahendrabhai Mashru and Shri Arvindbhai Ladani, local BJP leaders, In-charge Secretary Shri Narmawala, Collector Shri Alok Kumar Pandey, DDO Shri Ajay Prakash, senior officers of the concerned departments and citizens of Junagadh remained present.
