CM inaugurates Auction Shed and Ripening Chamber at Gondal APMC, underscores the importance of organic farm-produce

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel inaugurated a huge 42,000 Sq. Ft. Auction Shed and Ripening Chamber having capacity of 10 Metric Tonne at APMC yard in Gondal town in Rajkot district today.

On this occasion, Smt. Patel praised Chairman and trustees of APMC for constructing such a huge pillar-less Auction Shed, which she said will protect farmers and their agro-products from rain and scorching heat.

Talking about the Ripening Chamber, which was also inaugurated by the CM, she described the benefits of organically ripened fruits and added that artificially ripened fruits that we eat are loaded with chemicals and are very harmful. She said that now with the help of this newly built Ripening Chamber, we will be able to get naturally ripened fruits which are full of nutrients and have health benefits. She expressed her readiness to provide help from the state government to build such chambers in other parts.

It is to be noted that Trakuda village of Gondal has become village with 100% drip irrigation facility after registration of 430 farmers today. The CM congratulated Gondal APMC for substantially funding drip irrigation facility and urge other APMCs to undertake similar practice.

Smt. Patel, during her visit, attended a mass marriage function and blessed newly-weds. She expressed her happiness over registration for PM’s recently launched insurance schemes by all couples. They also pledged for ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’. The CM praised this exemplary move and stated that such practices set example for society and should be encouraged.

On this occasion, Health Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel, Transport Minister Shri Vijay Rupani, Union State Minister Shri Mohanbhai Kundariya, State Tourism and Water Supply Minister Shri Jayesh Radadiya, APMC Chairman Shri Jayantibhai Dhol, MLAs, other dignitaries and farmers remained present in large number.
