CM marks a promising beginning of state-wide celebrations of ‘Gyan Saptah’

CM Smt. Anandiben Patel today marked the beginning of ‘Gyan Saptah’ celebrations through live satellite address to teachers, parents and children across the state. She gave an inspirational message on the occasion and appealed the people to join in building model schools for the state, on the footsteps of Gujarat Model.

In her message Smt. Patel ensured that ‘Gyan Saptah’ celebrations will help in boosting up the spirits of students and teachers, which will lead to the betterment of the state education system. She stated that strong foundations of primary education will result in brighter future for the students. And so, utmost importance should be given to inculcate basic skills of reading, writing and counting in children.

Talking about the significance of cleanliness in a student’s life, Smt. Patel mentioned that qualities of cleanliness of the surroundings and personal hygiene should be instilled in children at an early stage. Role of parents, teachers and the entire society is vital in this process, she said. Smt. Patel insisted that parents should also keep themselves aware and informed about various school activities, cleanliness of school premise, sanitation and behaviour of teachers.

In her message Smt. Patel appealed the teachers to be punctual, polite and disciplined themselves, so that they can set illustrious examples of ideals and principles for the students. She emphasized to strengthen the education system through better coordination between aanganwadi, primary, secondary and higher-secondary schools. In emotional words, she also appealed the parents, teachers and trustees of schools to work together to eradicate the issue of malnourishment of children.

Smt. Patel ensured that various activities like cleanliness of schools, various competitions, science experiments, story-telling, tree plantation and many such programmes during ‘Gyan Saptah will prove to be a platform to groom skills and capabilities of the children. She announced that on September 5, on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, ‘guru vandana’ ceremony will be organised in all schools throughout the state. She said that the motive behind this is to strengthen mutual affection and respect amidst students, teachers and parents.

This thought-provoking message from CM inspired thousands of students, parents and members of education fraternity and marked a promising beginning of ‘Gyan Saptah’.
