Gujarat CM launches path-breaking initiatives towards reforming Guj through technology, reaffirming her vision of ‘Digital Gujarat’

As part of the ongoing Digital India Week launched by PM Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today initiated three significant e-Governance projects. She launched Aadhaar-based Bio-metric Authentication Service, Aadhaar-based Citizen Identification Service and State Resident Data Hub, that will prove to be path-breaking initiatives towards reforming Gujarat government through technology.

State Resident Data Hub that consists of 2.55 crore verified Aaadhaar data of Gujarat, along with other newly launched e-Governance initiatives will facilitate digital access to services across the state. With other successful projects like BISAG, SWAGAT, satellite-based education system, GSWAN, GSDC, SATCOM, e-Gram Vishwagram Yojana, e-Dhara, e-Jamin, e-Mamta, e-transactions, Wi-Fi enabled village, Gujarat government has been able to bridge urban-rural divide through e-connectivity.

Talking about these initiatives, in her address CM Smt Patel said that state government has been increasingly using Information and Communication Technology for making the system more transparent and ensure speedy redressal of people’s grievances. Gujarat government also has one of the most citizen-friendly and comprehensive policies of e-Governance, IT and Electronic, that enables the rise of Digital Gujarat.

On the occasion, CM Smt Patel also announced Online Quiz Contest on Digital India: Digital Gujarat conducted by Department of Science and Technology, for students of class 9 to 12. Registrations for this online quiz can be done between July 6 to July 25, on www.gujcost.gujarat.gov.in. First round will begin on August 1, go on till August 21, and the finals will be held on September 8.

CM Smt Patel lauded PM’s efforts through Digital India Week and stated that with innovation based development and Good governance through e-Governance, Gujarat is moving ahead to grow as Digital Gujarat.
