Gujarat CM visits Una and expresses her commitment to provide speedy justice to the victims

Gujarat CM Smt. Anandiben Patel visited MotaSamadhiyala village in Una Taluka of Gir-Somnath District and expressed complete solidarity with the victims of the atrocity incident.

Hon’ble CM Smt. Patel visited the village to inquire about the well-being of the families affected by the incident. CM Smt. Patel was accompanied by Minister of Social justice and Empowerment Shri Ramanlal Vora, Minister of State Shri JashabhaiBharad, Parliamentary Secretary Shri Jethabhai Solanki, and Chief Secretary Shri G.R. Aloriya and other senior leaders.

Expressing the government’s commitment to provide justice to the victims, CM Smt. Patel informed that the government has taken all necessary steps to ensure that the perpetrators of this crime are dealt with strictly and victims get speedy justice. She also added that stricter measures would be adopted.

CM Smt. Patel condemning the brutal atrocities committed on dalits said that these types of incidents are unbecoming for a civilized society. The perpetrators of this heinous crime will not be spared, she added.

Insisting that this incident is not something that should be used for political gains, CM Smt. Patel informed that the families of this community as well as all the villagers will be provided with all kinds of help and assistance. She added that the state and central government will provide the villagers with assistance in building and repairing their houses.

CM Smt. Patel provided assurance to the families of the victims and said that till now 16 individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident and individuals who are involved in phone threats will also be arrested soon.

CM Smt. Patel talked with the Shri BalubhaiVirabhaiSarvaiya, his wife Kuwarben, and other family members of the victims and obtained details about the incident.

Showing a positive attitude towards the requests of all affected families, CM Smt. Patel instructed the collector and other superior authorities of the district to conduct a survey in the village on an immediate basis and provide a report on education of children and other government initiatives which can be provided to the villagers.

CM Smt. Patel initiated a dialogue with the villagers and keeping their fundamental requirements in mind informed that concrete houses, Ma AmrutamYojana Card, Higher education and hostel stay, BPL card and distribution of food grains, treatment and medicine distribution camp, and a camp to provide benefits of all applicable schemes will be set up on 24th July for all dalit families living in the village and for poor families of other communities as well.

CM Smt. Patel instructed officials to prepare a list of beneficiaries and complete all procedures in 2 months. She further added that she will visit the village again after two months and take a note of the development in the lives of villagers.

CM Smt. Patel informed the villagers that the only way to get out of poverty is education and urged villagers to educate their children and also informed them about the various initiatives taken up by the government to educate children living in villages who have dropped out, education of youth, etc.

CM Smt. Patel also announced that the government will bear all the costs of treatment from reputed doctors of the daughter of a dalit family HetalbenGovindbhaiSarvaiya who was paralyzed after an appendix operation.

District Panchayat President Smt. ManibenRathod, MLA Shri Govindbhai Parmar, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri K. Kailashnathan, Senior police Officer Shri Shashikant Trivedi, Range IG Shri BrajeshJha, Collector Shri Dr. Ajay Kumar, DDO Shri Ashok Kalariya, and various other dignitaries remained present.
