Gujarat CM flags off Rs. 597 crore Bulk Pipeline initiative at Jamkandorana in Rajkot District

Guj CM Smt. Anandiben Patel flagged off the construction of the Rs. 597 crore bulk pipeline initiative at Jamkandorna in Rajkot district. Under the Narmada master plan, the construction of this bulk pipeline from Navada to Upleta will connect all villages and cities of Rajkot District with Narmada water pipeline. Under this project, 156 villages of Jetpur, Dhoraji, Upleta and Jamkandorna talukas as well as 5 cities including Jetpur, Jamkandorna, Dhoraji, Upleta and Bhayavadar will be provided connectivity with Narmada network.

On the occasion, CM Smt. Patel informed that the state government took this timely step to ensure that citizens get clean drinking water at their doorsteps. She further added that the state government has made a provision to provide clean drinking water to every house under the Wasmo Yojana. Also, funds over 26 crore are being allocated to various water committees of the state under this Yojana.

Talking about the importance of water and the need for its conservation, CM Smt. Patel advised Village heads to give special attention to the repair work of pipelines so that leakages and repair works are completed in a quick manner to stop wastage of water.

CM Smt. Patel also talked about the pro-agriculture outlook of the government and said that the whole world is reeling under the adverse effects of global warming which has led to inadequate water supply for agriculture. She further added that by planting more trees we can save ourselves from the adverse effects of global warming.

CM Smt. Patel informed about the various initiatives and schemes launched by the government for the development of agriculture like the recently announced organic farming policy. She also announced that in the near future, the government is going to establish an organic farming university in the state in which all processes starting from seed production methods to crop production, packaging, branding etc. will be taught. She requested all farmers of the state to obtain maximum benefit of these facilities.

CM Smt. Patel also talked about the free screening and treatment of cancer being done by the state government and requested all women of the state to avail the benefits of free screening. Moreover, she specifically requested female village heads to ensure that all women living in their respective villages avail the benefits of this scheme and thus contribute towards making Gujarat healthier.
