Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi said that the Government will shore up poor through-out their lives, with all its schemes. Now there is no need to respond to mediators who siphoned the benefits of poor. Government will reprimand this stack of people.

The Government is fully committed to create awareness in the society so as to enable the poor people to fight against the poverty.

Second ‘Garib Kalyan Mela' was held at Rajula, for five talukas of Amareli District – Rajula, Dhari, Savarkundala, Khambha and Jafarabad. Tool-kits worth Rs.55.11 crores were distributed to as many as 40000 beneficiaries. Government-aid worth more than Rs.175 Crores was delivered across the villages of Amareli District. The step would help to invigorate the economy of the Amareli District as well, he said.

The Chief Minister greeted a large gathering in an open jeep. Mentioning the mission of empowering poor, he said that finally this movement has shown a way to salvage from poverty.

He said that Government schemes do not aim for votes but for reshaping the lives of the poor. Every paisa distributed should sprout with peace and happiness in the hands of poor.

He suggested writing him a post-card, if one receives an inferior quality material as government-aid. He assures a tough step against such a case.

He felicitated women of Sakhi-Madals, for the managing Rs.400 crores worth money, as their fight against the monster of debt.

Finance Minister Shri Vajubhai Vala said that it is now already six decades since independence but, the poor have remained poor. Eradication of poverty needs concrete planning and actions. He acknowledged the Chief Minister's efforts of organizing ‘Garib Kalyan Mela'.

Minister Shri Dilipbhai Sanghani, Shri R.C.Faladu, MLA Shri Narabhai Kachhadia, along with senior officers addressed the Mela.

Minister Shri Saurabhbhai Patel as Chief-Guest along with MLAs-Shri Hirabhai Solanki, Kalubhai Virani, Mansukhbhai Bhuva, District BJP President Shri Sharadbhai Lakhani, Panchayat officers and people in large numbers were among the attendees.
