Earlier on October 18, the Union Cabinet had sanctioned Rs. 10,773-Cr for 36 Km. long phase-1 route of the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project. And now the approval of allocating unused land of Railways will expedite the Metro Rail Project, she added.

And a successful outcome of this deliberation has cleared the permission to make as many as seven stations between Vejalpur and Nava Vadaj areas of the Ahmedabad city.

The duo ministers said, in the backdrop of the deliberation meeting held recently between Mrs. Patel and Railway Board’s Chairman Mr. Hemant Kumar in Gandhinagar, the meeting conducted between Vice-Chairman and managing director of the Metro Rail Project and high-ranked technical officials of the Western Railways have taken few important decisions.

These stations can be constructed on the lands of Railways but the railway authorities would consider to grant permission for them only if their designs are as such that any of the pillar is not making any obstructions. In the cases of encroachment, the Railway Authority, with the help from the State Government, would try to resolve the issue to use the land for the Metro Project.
