CFC will save time and money of engineering units of Saurashtra, says Guj CM on inauguration of Rajkot Engineering Research and Testing Centre

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel dedicated Common Facility Centre at Rajkot Engineering Research and Testing Centre at Rajkot established at a cost of Rs. 15 crore by Rajkot Engineering Association, in association with state and central government, to test submersible pumps and electric motors for energy efficiency as well as material testing and instrument calibration.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel expressed her pleasure on getting international standard facilities at the door-step of our industry. She said that the Common Facility Centre equipped to conduct several tests including Material and Instrument Calibration will boost engineering sector in Rajkot. She shared that this is the state government encourages small and medium scale industries in the state. She also talked about state government’s focus on skill development programs to provide relevant and skilled man-power to the industries. She expressed her views regarding requirements of new researches for survival of our products in global market.

CM Smt Patel shared that this hi-tech centre, established with assistance worth Rs. 3.82 crore from Central Government and Rs. 2.45 crore from State Government, will be accredited by NABL. After an existing facility in Gandhinagar, this will be the second laboratory of Gujarat to issue Bureau of Indian Standard and Energy Efficiency certificates, she added. Moreover, this centre will have testing facility for power saving pumps and motors through maximum test beds in the country. She stated that this state of the art centre will be very useful to all engineering units of this region in terms of saving their time and money.

On this occasion, Union Minister of State Shri Mohanbhai Kundariya, Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, MLA Smt Bhanuben Babariya, Rajkot Deputy Mayor Dr. Darshita Shah, President of Ahmedabad Chamber of Commerce Shri Rohitbhai Patel, industrialists, office bearers, district collector, residential additional collector and others remained present.
