Gujarat CM attends Laghu Udhyog Bharati Convention in Ahmedabad

Gujarat CM Smt. Anandiben Patel attended West Area convention of Laghu Udhyog Bharati in Ahmedabad today. Talking about the share of employment generated by the small and medium industries, CM Smt. Patel said that this sector generates the highest employment and as a result, the government has taken many necessary steps to facilitate easy procurement of permissions and hence hasten manufacturing.

CM Smt. Patel said that it is well known that Gujarat has the best infrastructural facilities for industries and assured everyone present that pending issues related to small and medium industries will be resolved in the coming 1 month. Moreover, she added that the current government has started work on providing many facilities and incentives like financial assistance, assistance in interest, easy availability of land and electricity etc. to promote startups. Also, CM Smt. Patel informed everyone about Gujarat’s leading position in construction of small GIDCs according to the demand of small industries.

CM Smt. Patel also instructed relevant officials of administrative department to take the suggestions discussed in this conference seriously and work on their implementation by making necessary changes in administrative procedures. Also, she informed everyone about how Gujarat has showed a new direction to the whole country by making a special GIDC for women to increase their contribution in the industrial world. CM Smt. Patel also conveyed her strong belief that by the confluence of the hopes and aspirations of these small industries and the government’s cooperative and helpful attitude, this sector will realize its true potential and play a significant role in realizing the dream of Make in India.

CM Smt. Patel also conveyed her satisfaction that small and medium industries are the leading implementers of MOUs signed at various levels. Stressing on the need to differentiate permission procedures according to different industries, CM Smt. Patel hoped that this would lead to fewer complicated administrative procedures for procuring permission and thus save both time and effort of industrialists. CM Smt. Patel also expressed her wish for the cooperation of small and medium industrialists to help conserve the environment. She also suggested that by the use of modern technology, industrialists can both increase their profits and participate in creating a more beautiful future.

On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industry Shri Arvind Agrawal, Commissioner of Industries, various other dignitaries, and over 800 delegates from Small and Medium Industries of states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa remained present.
