Gujarat CM Dedicates Mahuva Taluka Seva Sadan and Various Other Development Works at Mahuva in Bhavnagar District

Guj CM Smt. Anandiben Patel dedicated Mahuva Taluka Seva Sadan and various other development works including construction of Bhanvad and Jadra RCC road in Mahuva at the cost of Rs. 3.5 Cr 5, provision of Pneumatic Breakers to toilet construction workers, launching of Saath Vikas mobile application, and initiating biometric attendance in 500 gram Panchayats today at Mahuva in Bhavnagar District. Saath Vikas application will enable citizens to get all information regarding schemes and initiatives of state as well as central government on their fingertips.

On the occasion, CM Smt. Patel also distributed cheques worth Rs 79 lakh to beneficiaries of various government schemes.

CM Smt. Patel stated that the most frequent complaint of citizens is that government officials are not present in their offices and as a result their work is not being done on time. Technology is being used to resolve this issue by implementing biometric verification technology, CCTV cameras etc. which will ensure that government officials are doing their work properly. Also, technology is being used in such a way that people coming to Taluka Seva Sadan will get instantaneous information about various administrative procedures and government schemes, CM Smt. Patel added.v CM Smt. Patel also informed that attendance system such as biometric verification will be installed in government schools, government offices and health centers along with CCTV monitoring in the near future to ensure that officials remain present and do their job satisfactorily. CM Smt. Patel also lauded the move of DDOs and Collectors to implement this technology for better administration. This technology has already been implemented in over 500 gram panchayats.

Praising the development and growth of Kalsar village, CM Smt. Patel congratulated the villagers and Sarpanch for the exceptional development achieved in the village and also suggested other village heads and villagers to take inspiration from well-developed villages and adopt their strategies of development. The villagers of Kalsar have adopted modern technology to keep the village clean and are also participating in skill development initiatives. Kalsar has shown what all round development is like by focusing on health, education, skill development and cleanliness, CM Smt. Patel added. Asserting the government’s commitment towards healthy practices in villages, CM Smt. Patel announced that the government has decided to provide sanitary napkins free of cost in government schools and colleges. She also felicitated women of Sakhi Mandal for developing sanitary napkins at a minimal cost of Rs. 2 using the 12 lakh grant provided by the state government. CM Smt. Patel also stated that through use of modern technology and techniques we can revolutionize education and make it easily accessible for all. As a result, the syllabus of Standard 1st to 8th has been digitized and students are taught using modern equipments like televisions and computers in government schools to supplement conventional styles of teaching.

CM Smt. Patel said that the BJP government has always been committed to the welfare of farmers. In the current year’s budget, the government made a provision that farmers availing loans up to Rs. 3 lakh will only have to pay 1% interest and the rest will be paid straight to the banks by the state government. To expand the scope of the scheme, the government has also decided to provide the benefits of this scheme to farmers who have taken loans a year ago and has already paid Rs. 400 crore to banks in the form of interest for these loans, she added.

In addition to this, the central government also launched the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana which provided crop insurance to farmers at a premium ranging from 2% to 5%. CM Smt. Patel informed that the state government has decided that farmers of the state can avail this insurance by paying only 2% premium instead of 5%. Talking about the importance of roads for development of any region, CM Smt. Patel informed that the state government has allocated Rs. 2500 crore in the current year’s budget for constructing and repairing village roads. Also, in the next 3 years, a total of Rs. 10,000 crore will be allocated for the same. CM Smt. Patel further added that 3000 cr worth of road work has already been approved in the current year and in the next month job number will be provided to new road works amounting to Rs. 2000 crore.

CM Smt. Patel also informed about the government’s initiative of providing free screening and treatment of breast and cervical cancer to women. Till now, over 1 crore 25 thousand women have been screened out of which over 20 thousand women have been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing free treatment at government hospitals.

Talking about the government’s commitment to make Gujarat open defecation free, CM Smt. Patel said that the state government has ensured that the work of construction of toilets in various villages and cities of the state gets finished as quickly as possible. It is a proud moment for all of us that Gujarat is at the top position compared to other states of the nation in terms of the number of toilets constructed, CM Smt. Patel added. Also, in all 8 megacities of the state, the work of toilet construction has been finished and Surat has been recently declared as the first open defecation free city in the whole nation. CM Smt. Patel further informed that in 6100 villages of the state, the work of toilet construction has been 100% completed. Also, the government aims to complete 100% toilet construction in the remaining villages in a span of next one to one and a half year.

On the occasion, CM Smt. Patel stated that 84 gram panchayats of Bhavnagar district have been declared open defecation free. Also, in Talaja, Mahuva and Palitana municipalities, the work of toilet construction has been 100% completed and verified by third party inspection. CM Smt. Patel declared these municipalities open defecation free today.

CM Smt. Patel urged the 6 crore strong population of Gujarat to come together without any discrimination and assist the government in ensuring peace, prosperity and development of the state.
