Gujarat CM hands-over ownership documents of free plots to the needy Devi Pujak families in Rajkot

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel distributed ownership documents of free plots of land to 188 Devi Pujak community families at Atmiya College ground in Rajkot during her visit to the city this evening.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel said that the allocation of free plots reflects the concern of the state government towards the underprivileged strata of the society. This will cater to the need to have a proper house for those who either have no house or have inadequate housing facility. She also informed that an assistance of Rs. 70,000 will also be given to these beneficiaries for constructing houses and additional Rs. 12,000 for building in-house toilet. She also shared that the plots are allotted to the female member of the family.

In her speech, CM Smt Patel appealed to this community to root out superstitious beliefs, take benefits of various welfare schemes of the government and to give proper education to their children to get rid of the poverty and live a better life. She also appealed to plant 5 trees per house. She highlighted various free health drives of the government like free health screening campaign, Mukhyamantri Amrutam Yojana, MA Vatsalya Yojana and requested to get themselves examined as a precautionary measure and to remain healthy. She assured them that even in the case of worst illness, the State Government by their side. She also talked about importance of nutrition in children and women. She explained the role of education in poverty eradication.

While extending wishes for the better life to the beneficiaries, CM Smt Patel assured that the state government will leave no stone unturned for the welfare of underprivileged.

On this occasion, Gujarat BJP President and Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, Union Minister of State Shri Mohanbhai Kundariya, State Ministers Shri Govindbhai Patel and Shri Jayeshbhai Radadiya, MLAs, Taluka Panchayat President, District Collector, DDO, Leaders of Devi Pujak community, other dignitaries and beneficiaries remained present.
