In Ahmedabad, today, Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Ahmedabad Chapter of FICCI Ladies Organisation' (FLO). He remarked that the Matru-Shakti (womenfolk) is making noteworthy contribution in the development of our nation; money is no criterion to evaluate their contribution.

Indian traditions worship the power of Matru-Shakti. Discharging their duties in sincere and dedicated manners, it has helped keeping the family-system intact.

In the current era, people debate about women-empowerment. Western forces are getting disillusioned about the backward-state of Indian women. On every front, women have remained successful. It is never limited up to family matters, but they have proved their eminence par excellence. Even, women belonging to underprivileged classes have also proved their efficiency by harnessing talent.

As legend has it, our scriptures highlight the glory of women's strength. Our Puranas have spelt the metaphor of women's strength and power. Time has arrived to discard the belief that Indian women are weak, cautioned CM.

Gujarat Government has constituted Gangaba Award to decorate and honour rural-women. Mahatma Gandhi had presented a Hand Spinning Wheel to Gangaba; the award has been named after her. It gives new direction to pedagogy, with inspirations from ancient system. We are proud to notice many legends in the history. CM highlighted the success of ‘Kanya Kelavani Abhiyan' (Girl Child Enrolment drives). It has a profound impact, very positive influence. The Drop-Out ratio in Girl Child is reduced up to 1.29%. CM elaborated upon the success of Chiranjeevi Yojana, which has addressed infant and mother mortality. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is highly impressed to witness the positive results. The 108 Emergency services helped around 9000 safe deliveries in the ambulance-van, saving lives of mother and child.

Highlighting stupendous success of ‘Save the Girl Child public campaign', CM detailed the achievements of the campaign. The skewed Girl-Child birth ratio has been improved, previously it was 702 girls against 1000 boys, and it rose to 896 girls against 1000 boys.

Gujarat is pioneer, it has introduced a scheme, under which the flour is being fortifies with Soya-beans. It is bound to address the issue of mal-nutrition among the poor. Under philanthropic initiatives, consciousness of society is awakened. People are donating Sukhadi (the healthy diet supplement) and milk to expectant mothers and toddlers.

Under Mission Mangalam Scheme, around 1.5 lakh Sakhi-Mandals (Women Self Help Groups)of Gujarat are to administer the fund of Rs. 5000 Crores in the coming days, presently they administer the fund of Rs. 400 Crores, for taking up economic activities, added CM. Gujarat Government is offering economic incentives, if property- deed is registered in the name of woman. State has undertaken concrete measures for women empowerment.

Earlier delivering welcome address, President- FLO, Shri Kavita Datta lauded Shri Modiji's leadership. With his dash and dynamism, he has steered Gujarat on the path of progress and prosperity.

President, FICCI-Gujarat, Shri Pankaj Patel, Renowned actress Ravina Tanden, Past President –FLO- Kiran Gera, Shri Sonal Ambani gave compliments to FLO- Gujarat Chambers.
