Gujarat CM Launches Ujala Gujarat Yojana in the State

Guj CM Smt. Anandiben Patel today launched the Ujala Gujarat Yojana under the Central Government’s Ujala Yojana scheme to provide energy-saving LED bulbs to one crore houses in the state at a function in Vadodara.

The day’s event included distributing LED bulb, solar home lamps, solar fans and certificates for electricity connections to the beneficiaries. She directed the administration to install boards detailing the benefits to ration card holders at fair price shops. She also inaugurated the first-ever national book fair in Vadodara.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government’s pro-people decision to provide LED bulbs would not only save electricity bill but also emit good quality light. She said that the BJP Government has showed the way to serve the people which the Congress Government could not in the last 60 years.

CM Smt. Patel on behalf of the people of Gujarat congratulated the Prime Minister to create awareness about his agenda for development and translate his initiatives undertaken in to concrete ground work to mark the BJP Government entering its third year in office at the Centre.

CM Smt. Patel recounted the slew of steps the Prime Minister has taken for the welfare of 125-crore people of India irrespective of their caste and class, during the last two years. She further added that he provided a new direction to good governance by implementing initiatives such as Clean Ganga and cleaning of other rivers in the country as well as his campaign to provide toilet at every home.

Talking in detail about the pervasive gloom during the previous Congress’ rule at the Centre particularly with prejudice towards Gujarat and how the current government restored feel good factor such as permitting raising the height of SSP dam on Narmada River within 17 days of coming to power thus enabling its completion in March 2017, CM Smt. Patel said that the winds of Congress-free India have already begun to blow and are spreading fast across India.

Talking about the innovative Lok Samvad Setu started to solve people’s problems at the district and taluka level she said that the initiative is now being unsuccessfully copied by the Congress. She also spoke on people’s healthcare schemes like free screening and treatment of breast and cervical cancer in women.

On the occasion BJP State President and Labour and Employment Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, Energy Minister Shri Saurabhbhai Patel, Principal Secretary for Energy and Chemicals L. Chuango, Minister of State Shri Jaydrathsinh Parmar, Mayor Shri Bharatbhai Dangar, MPs, MLAs, VUDA Chairman N.V. Patel, Supply Chairman Bhupendrabhai Lakhawala, Municipal Commissioner Shri H.S. Patel, GUVNL Managing Director Shamina Hussein, MGVCL Managing Director Rajesh Manju, Collector Lochan Sehra and DDO Saurabh Pardhi remained present.
