Gujarat Comes First in the Interstate Comparative Analysis of the Central Government’s 20 Point Program

Under the visionary leadership of Guj CM Smt. Anandiben Patel, Gujarat secured the first position for the second consecutive year in the implementation of the central government’s twenty point program for the welfare of the poor.

According to the progress report published by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation at the end of March 2016, Gujarat had achieved more than 100% in many areas in pro-poor welfare programs according to the standards set by the central government and as a result secured the first place.

The Central government’s progress report detailing the comparison between different states for the year 2015-16 for the 20 point program for all-round upliftment of the poor showed that Gujarat came at the first place with 100% achievement.

Under the leadership of CM Smt. Anandiben Patel, after the achievement of good governance, pro-citizen work under Gatisheel Gujarat and the success of ease of doing business, Gujarat has achieved one more glorious feat by securing the first position.

The Twenty Point Program was first introduced in the nation by the previous Congress affiliated Prime Minister. The targets under this program for specific states are decided by the Central Government, but since a couple of years, even in the congress ruled and Communist party ruled states of the nation, the implementation of this program has largely been ignored. Gujarat even though being a BJP ruled state, gave primary importance to the implementation of all pro-poor programs and secured the first place.

Guj CM Smt. Anandiben Patel with her visionary leadership and rapid administration is furthering PM Shri Narendra Modi led government’s commitment towards upliftment of the poor, the result of which has enabled Gujarat to secure the first place.

CM Smt. Patel has evoked a social revolution to inspire people to join PM Shri Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and committed firmly to make Gujarat open defecation free. Under this initiative toilets have been constructed in 9 lakh, 22 thousand, 728 houses in rural areas of the state.

Gujarat has also come first in number of childbirths at hospitals by fulfilling the target of 11 lakh, 56 thousand institutional deliveries to achieve the goal of ‘Surakshit Bal, Tandurast Aavtikal’ by safe and secure deliveries in hospitals.

Also, Gujarat has come first in providing employment in rural areas under the Rashtriya Gramin Rojgar Guarantee Program by providing employment to 2 crore, 24 lakh, 71 thousand people and handing out total wages worth Rs. 306 crore, 19 lakh, 4 thousand.

Under the leadership of CM Smt. Anandiben Patel Gujarat government has given the utmost importance to the upliftment of the poor and the deprived in the work agenda of gatisheel Gujarat; as a result of its implementation, Gujarat will once again secure the 1st position in the implementation of the 20 point program.
