Gujarat CM lauds the festive spirit while attending ‘Mahohar Mahisagar’, a cultural program at Lunawada held on the eve of I-Day

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel attended a grand cultural program ‘Mahohar Mahisagar’ organized at Lunawada of newly constituted Mahisagar district, in the august presence of Governor Shri O. P. Kohli, on the eve of 69th Independence Day as a part of the state level celebration of 69th Independence Day.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel handed over two cheques of Rs. 2.5 crore each to District Collector and DDO for developing infrastructural facilities in the rural and urban areas of the district.

During the event, freedom fighters and prominent citizens were also felicitated. She congratulated all the 200 artists, including 70 local artists, who joined hands to put up the splendid cultural program, depicting history and highlighting valour of Govind Guru, who stood up against the British in the region. She also expressed her happiness over the enthusiasm of the people who thronged the venue despite rains. This reflects the festive spirit of the Independence Day, she added.

CM Smt Patel congratulated all the police personnel of Gujarat who have been awarded Police Medal for their meritorious and distinguished service on the occasion of Independence Day.

The cultural program was also attended by State Law Minister Shri Pradeepsinh Jadeja, MP Shri Jaswantsinh Bhabhor, Chairmen of Borads and Corporations, Chief Secretary Shri G. R. Aloria, Information Commissioner Shri S. B. Rawal, District Collector Shri K. B. Upadhyay, other senior bureaucrats and people in large number.
