Hon. CM Smt. Anandiben Patel attends Mahila Sammelan at Dwarka

On this occasion, Hon. CM talked about the importance and sufferings of women in the society. She said that empowerment, safety and health of the women are essential to provide them a dignified life, which is their right and we have no right to snatch their birthright. She has shared that the state government has taken various promotional measures for the same.

Smt. Anandiben took the opportunity to discuss about ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ on this occasion. Smt. Patel said to the present audience that we are not conscious about public hygiene. It only when our PM himself took the broom in his hand, we became aware. She stated that cleanliness has direct connection with our health and added that if we keep our places clean, 40% people could be saved from illness. She appealed to Sarpanchs to sincerely perform their duty of spreading awareness for cleanliness in their villages.

Smt. Patel explained the importance of nutrition and health for the overall development of child and mother. She informed about various government programs for this cause and advised people to take the benefit of the same. She shared that expectant mothers are now given Rs.6000 for nutritious food, instead of Rs.1600 given earlier. She also talked about Maa Vatsalya Yojna and other health schemes implemented for the benefit of BPL and middle class citizens.

Hon. CM, on this occasion, described how education is essential for our bright future and nation building. She talked about increasing investment in the state and said that trained employable youth would be required by the companies in near future and local people can get jobs easily with their qualifications. She also said that hard work is necessary for the betterment of life. She also advised people to provide proper guidance and motivation to their children to join science stream. Smt. Patel shared that now we have 56 different universities including specialized universities like Petroleum University, Forensic Science University, Teachers University, etc.

Smt. Anandiben recalled the slogan ‘Beti Bachavo, Beti Bhanavo’ (Save & Educate the Girl Child), given by our Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi. She also talked about the social evil of feticide. She expressed her surprise by saying that mercy killing is legally not allowed in our country, but cases of feticide is very common in our society.

On the occasion of Republic Day, let’s take pledge to save and educate girls and stop feticide for our brighter future. She warned that we can’t snatch the right to take birth from child. She said that it is our collective responsibility to save our society from this evil and assured full co-operation from the government. Hon. CM shared to follow the principle of ‘Participation of all for the development of all’ for inclusive and overall development of the society and the state.

On this occasion Hon. CM dedicated many developmental works and also distributed wick machines, various prizes, awards and aid to local people for different causes.

Jamnagar MP Smt. Poonam Madam, Hon. Minister of Women and Child Welfare Smt. Vasuben Trivedi, Hon. Minister of Water Resources, Water Supply, Agriculture, Co-operation, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Cow Breeding Shri Babubhai Bokhiriya, MLAs, Collector, DDO, other senior officials and women in large number were also remained present at this occasion.
