Gujarat CM takes stock of the rainfall in a high-level meeting at Gandhinagar

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel convened a high-level meeting today to take stock of the latest situation of rainfall, sowing of crops, drinking water, standing crops and fodder in the state.

It was informed in the meeting that 10 districts received widespread rainfall of 10-27 per cent, Gir-Somnath receiving the maximum 37 per cent, while two talukas of Kutch and three talukas of Banaskantha district did not receive any rainfall so far. Crops have been sown on 15.2 lakh hectares till July 4, while the reservoirs stored up to 17.22 per cent of their capacity.

CM Smt. Patel directed the administration to provide adequate drinking water and fodder for the cattle. About 324 lakh kg grass has been provided through 191 grass depots to 93 Goshalas, Panjra Pols and 208 cattle camps.

Those present in the meeting included Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri K. Kailashnathan, Prinicpal Secretary to CM S. Aparna, Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Shri Sanjay Prasad and Relief Commissioner Shri Manish Bharadwaj.
