“Welfare of the poor is the top priority of state government” Guj CM while attending Garib Kalyan Mela at Kheda

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today attended Garib Kalyan Mela, organized at Kathlal of Kheda district, and distributed welfare assistance directly to the beneficiaries of various government schemes. She also inaugurated Kathlal Mamlatdar Office, built at the cost of Rs. 4.5 crore.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel expressed her happiness and said that the GKMs have changed lives of the many poor families and added that the ultimate objective of the GKM is the economic empowerment of the poor and their welfare has always been the top priority of the state government.

In her address, CM Smt Patel shared that Rs.12,000 crore worth assistance have been distributed under various schemes among about 81 lakh beneficiaries in total 1095 GKMs held by now. She said that this has improved living conditions of the poor and infused confidence among them.

CM Smt Patel made an appeal to the people of rural areas to seek benefits of various government schemes including health and education. The state government is always with the poor and deprived to help them fight against poverty, she added.

CM Smt Patel criticised the vindictive approach of the Congress and added that they are triggering undue controversies and rumours. She cautioned the people to recognize such elements. She went on to say that no troublesome element can stop us from serving the poor.

While felicitating some successful women in the field of animal husbandry and farming, CM Smt Patel praised their hard-work and added that as a farmer girl, I know how hard it is to work in the fields. She also praised the women who have increased their income by adopting drip irrigation system and appealed to the farmers to go for the same.

She expressed her wishes for the World Tribal Day, being observed today, and promised to continue such works to make the life of the people happy.

On this occasion, MP Shri Devsinh Chauhan, MLAs, officer bearers of District and Taluka Panchayat, District Collector, DDO, social leaders, beneficiaries and people in large number remained present.
