Gujarat CM addresses Gujarat Investor Summit organized at Make In India week in Mumbai

Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel addressed dignitaries at Gujarat Investor Summit organized at Make In India week, today. In her address she highlighted investment friendly environment of Gujarat and Single window system that makes it one of the preferred destinations for doing business. She talked about investment friendly policies formed by Gujarat government that makes it easy for industrialists to set up the business.

She mentioned Gujarat government has recently formed new policies to attract business in the state. Recently formed Electronics, IT, Textile, Plastic, Tourism and Cottage Industry policies to give a fillip to respective industries. The state government is already planning to come up with new policies for Mega Industries, Agro-food, and Defense Manufacturing. Through this Gujarat government has laid emphasis on 25 points of Make In India policy which will create direct and indirect employment opportunities.

CM Smt Patel mentioned how Vibrant Gujarat Summit started in 2003 (the brain-child of Shri Narendra Modi) has played a key role in attracting investment from International giants. Its success has led to many national and international giants to set up their units in Gujarat and also in establishing Gujarat as Global Gateway of India. She stated to ease the procedure of setting up the business units post signing MOUs, government has started ‘Single Window System’. Besides this, to monitor the overall process a top committee is formed which is monitored by CM. Due to the collective effort of all these, Gujarat has received investment intentions worth Rs 62403 cr in 2015, and Gujarat has been on forefront in implementation of this, CM stated.

Recently in a survey carried out by World Bank and central government Gujarat topped in Ease of Doing business index, CM proudly mentioned. She also mentioned from the year 2009 to 2015, 30% growth has been registered in Micro Industries and Gujarat is committed for the growth of more than 6 lakh MSME. CM also apprised about state government’s plan to establish separate sheds and industrial park in GIDCs for encouraging women entrepreneurs. She mentioned about state government’s priority to revive cottage industry and it has formed a new cottage policy on the theme of ‘One Village One Product’.

To encourage NRIs to invest in Gujarat, Foreign Desks have been established in Frankfurt, Dubai, New York, Tokyo and Guangdong.

She stated Make In India as stated rightly by PM is the lion step that will broaden the horizon of investment and industrial development for every state and she affirmed Make In India will play a vital role in establishing India globally as Manufacturing hub.
