CM attends Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojna meet

Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojna will prove as a model for tribal development in entire country

Chief Minister Narendra Modi attended a high level meet concerning Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana (VKY). He expressed desire to implement the scheme in a more positive and a fruitful manner. The meet headed by the Chief Minister was attended by Forest and Environment Minister Mangubhai Patel, Minister of State for Forest Jaswantsinh Bhabhor, Parliamentary Secretary Harshad Vasava, MP Kanaji Patel and MLAs.

Chief Minister said that by convergence of various schemes of different departments the state government  has received unprecedented success of VKY. The Rs.15,000-cr Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana has increased the level of self-confidence and boosted the spirit of development among the Adivasi people.

VKY should now be implemented as a ‘next generation VKY’ in a well-thought-of and more fruitful manner, said Mr. Modi. The scheme will prove as a model for tribal development in entire country. The development and welfare of Adivasis from Umargam to Ambaji has leapfrogged in past five years compared to forty years surpassing Rs.1500 crore Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojna package to Rs.1800 crores. 

Shri Modi said, "The state government desires to provide medical education under ‘public private partnership’ and will focus on eliminating problems of tribals by making maximum use of technology."

Chief Minister also gave suggestions on adopting new approaches suitable for the sakhimadalas in tribal areas, doing research regarding the syllabus and the language of education for the children in tribal belts and on broadening the base of technical education in tribal areas.
