Gujarat CM dedicates various development works in Surendranagar

Gujarat CM Smt. Anandiben Patel dedicated several development works in Surendranagar today including the construction of an over-bridge on the 80 feet road at a cost of Rs. 40 crore. The bridge will be completed in the span of one and a half year and will resolve the traffic problems of over 1 lakh commuters. CM Smt. Patel also dedicated and laid the foundation stone of 14 road development works in Wadhwan, Lakhtar and Muli taluka of Surendranagar District. On top of this, she also flagged off the work of providing over 20 thousand water connections which will provide pressurized water to more than 1 lakh 75 thousand citizens.

On the occasion, CM Smt. Patel also dedicated the newly constructed Nagar Seva Sadan and launched a mobile app for providing the services of municipality online to citizens. She also dedicated police quarters and a 66 K.V. substation at Kherali and Nagra which will provide more electricity to farmers. On the occasion, CM Smt. Patel also launched with great pleasure the Dudh Sanjivani Yojana in Lakhtar, Dhrangadhra and Patdi taluka of Surendranagar District.

Talking about the commitment of the state government towards the welfare of citizens, CM Smt. Patel said that the government has taken stringent steps like the Dudh Sanjivani Yojana to combat malnutrition in children and ensure their all round development. The initiative was first started for children studying in government primary schools in tribal regions. Under this initiative, children are provided flavored milk 5 times a week in schools. Today, the government has taken steps to provide milk to primary school students in all districts and talukas of the state.

In order to combat increasing traffic problems, CM Smt. Patel said that the state government will construct railway passes and over-bridges wherever possible in cities to mitigate traffic jams in those regions. Speaking on the topic of responsible governance, Smt. Patel said that it is the duty and responsibility of the highest leader of the state to fulfill promises made to the people. She promised that the provisions made in the current budget for various works by the government will be completed 100% by the end of this year.

Giving details about the huge strides taken in the fight against open defecation, CM Smt. Patel said that 100% toilet construction has been achieved in 162 municipalities and 8 cities of the state. Also, 100% toilet construction has been finished in over 6000 villages and 12-15 talukas of the state.

CM Smt. Patel requested people to take a pledge to never defecate in the open and contribute towards making a clean and healthy society. She also expressed hope that the government will continue to receive the valuable support of people for developing a better and prosperous Gujarat.
