Gujarat CM announces development works worth Rs 476 cr for Gir-Somnath district on the occasion of 67th Republic Day celebration

On the occasion of 67th Republic Day celebration, CM Smt Anandiben Patel announced development works worth Rs 476 cr to be undertaken by state government in coming years for Gir- Somnath district.

Important announcement made by CM

In Gir- Gadhada Taluka of Gir-Somnath district electricity will be made available through Solar Panel in forest areas and ness at the expense of Rs 1122.40 lakh. Besides new electric connection will be provided to the villages. Under Sagarkhedu Sarvangi Yojna in agriculture areas approval for installing transformers is given.

Under Urja Shakti Yojna electricity through electricity network will be supplied at the cost of Rs 1790 lakh for the benefit of farmers in villages of Una.

For the modernization of Police force approval granted for building police headquarters in the district at the cost of Rs 7450.

Approval granted for the work of ambitious project of building barrage over Devka River costing Rs 3024 lakh.

Approval granted for building District Panchayat bhavan costing Rs 2940 lakh.

Announcement made to build a Shastra lake between Somnath and Veraval and approval for works worth Rs 3100 lakh.

From Veraval –Talala to Somnath and from Somnath to Gita Mandir approval for the work of C. C Road at the expense of Rs 3097 lakh.

In village areas of Samarvav in Veraval approval for installation of new 220 KV substations costing Rs 9000 lakh granted.

Approval granted for development work of ancient pilgrim place at the coast of Saraswati River costing Rs 500 lakh.

As a present to the Somanth-Gir district for hosting 67th Republic day state level celebration approval for development works of Rs 5 cr. granted for the district.

On the occasion a cultural program ‘Jai Somnath’ was organized which was witness by CM Smt Patel and other dignitaries.

CM Smt Patel felicitated 14 eminent personalities from Somnath-Gir for their contribution.

CM Smt Patel dedicated painting exhibition and flagged off heritage walk from the premises of Somnath Mandir, previously.
