GoG is trying to make revenue administration more responsive to people’s needs-Guj CM at Revenue Law & Litigation seminar

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today addressed senior officials, government lawyers and district administration at a unique seminar on ‘Revenue Law and Litigation’ in Gandhinagar. She spoke on the importance of simplifying and resolving complications existing in age-old revenue laws and the need for integrating technology to facilitate revenue matters.

In her address, CM Smt Patel said that simplifying and streamlining are the only ways to reduce revenue-related litigation, that otherwise consumes lot of energy, time and money of people, judiciary and administration. Government of Gujarat is committed towards making revenue-administration more sensitive and responsive to people’s needs, she added.

Focussing on the increasing use of modern technology, she stated that technology is a great enabler in easing revenue-related complications and so more ways should be explored in leveraging technology to ensure last-mile delivery of various pro-people revenue reforms. She urged officials to make all efforts to include more and more women in the purview of benefits of revenue reforms. CM Smt Patel also shared details of various pro-people revenue reforms taken up the state government.

At the seminar, CM Smt Patel also launched a CD giving details of over 65 important revenue-related decisions taken by Supreme Court and High Court that shall prove to be beneficial for revenue administration. Advocate General of Gujarat, Shri Kamal Trivedi, was also present at the seminar.
