Gunotsav ensures infrastructure and quality education in govt. primary schools – CM
  • CM urged parents and teachers to help the government provide basic amenities in village schools
  • CM to visit primary schools in Chandlodia area of Ahmedabad on 2nd day of Gunotsav Abhiyan

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today reiterated her government’s commitment to provide basic facilities for higher education, healthcare and potable drinking water in every village like that in metropolitan cities. She appealed to the parents, teachers and leaders of political parties and voluntary organizations to help the government in these efforts.

Speaking at a function to launch the statewide three-day Gunotsav Abhiyan from the Hardaspur government primary school in Mahisagar district, she said the Gunotsav Abhiyan was launched to ensure minimum physical infrastructure and qualitative improvement in education in government primary schools.

Nearly 6,000 officials, educationists and academics visit as many villages during the Abhiyan to cover schools and offer their suggestion for improvement. They need health body to develop healthy faculties. A number of medical teams are touring 13,000 schools and anganwadis to take care of the students’ health and let them overcome their deficiencies since November 13 which would continue till November 25.

Interestingly, the Chief Minister’s visit to the school was arranged by students themselves. Impressed by their talents, she asked the village elders help the students develop their latent talents. Teachers could take half an hour’s extra class of students with lower Intelligence Quotient. She said students should be encouraged to prepare their snacks, time-table. She asked the teachers to take the students on excursions to make studies interesting, help increase their horizon of thinking and memory, and it should be followed up by essay and model making competition.

People of the village handed over their contribution to the Chief Minister’s Girls Education Fund. Fruits were distributed to the anganwadis workers. The women sarpanchs of the Lunawada taluka on the occasion took pledge to for Swatch Bharat Abhiyan.

The Chief Minister will visit the government schools in the Chandlodia locality of Ahmedabad on the second day of the three-day Gunotsav Abhiyan.
