Gujarat CM Reviews Situation Caused Due to Delayed Monsoon in a High-level Meeting

A vivid review regarding situation caused due to delayed monsoon for water, cattle fodder, and level of water reservoirs was discussed in a high-level meeting which was held with cabinet ministers chaired by Gujarat Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel in Gandhinagar today.

CM Smt. Patel instructed officials to make sufficient arrangement of water and cattle fodder in the current situation caused due to delayed monsoon in the state. At present 1.85 crore kilogram fodder is available in various fodder depots in the state. She instructed officials to make arrangement of additional godowns and storage system by conducting process to purchase additional 1 crore kilogram fodder through tender process.

During the review meeting of monsoon, the state has received average 109 mm means 13.72% rains till July 11. On potable and irrigation water issue, she clearly said that the distribution through tanker will be continued. She instructed to continue present arrangement to extend water to 338 villages, 238 suburbs through 381 tankers. She also instructed the power department to provide electricity supply for 10 hours in districts where cultivation of paddy is going on. She instructed district administration to provide assistance in cases if human and cattle deaths happen during monsoon.

CM Smt. Patel guided officials to make regular coordination regarding fodder, water, irrigation problems occurring due to delayed monsoon and in all possible situations.

Cabinet Ministers Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Shri Saurabhbhai Patel, Shri Babubhai Bokhiriya, Ministers of State Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary and Shri Tarachand Chheda, Chief Secretary Shri G. R. Aloriya, Principal Secretary to CM Shri K. Kailashnathan and Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of concerned departments remained present in the meeting.
