Hon. CM Anandiben Patel Attends Republic Day Celebration at Devbhoomi Dwarka

Today, on the morning of 26th January 2015, 66th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Jam Khambhalia town of Gujarat’s newly carved Devbhoomi Dwarka district. HE the Governor of Gujarat Shri O. P. Kohli and Hon. CM Smt. Anandiben Patel graced the ceremony with their august presence.

The Tricolour was unfurled by HE the Governor of Gujarat Shri O. P. Kohli and both the Governor and the CM offered a high-headed salute amid the tune of national anthem in a very patriotic atmosphere.

The flag hoisting ceremony was followed by a grand parade by 28 platoons. For the first time the troops of Army, Navy and Air-force as well as paramilitary forces participated in the state-level parade. Both the 1st and 2nd Parade Commanders were women showing their high spirit and confidence. Police Band had attuned its tunes matching with the march past by the police contingents.

There were 36 wonderful tableaus by various government departments and corporations depicting the State’s diversity & development. The tableaux showcasing various welfare schemes included those of Agriculture Dept, Animal Husbandry, Energy Development, Forest, Health & Family Welfare, Abhayam, Border Security, Prohibition, Tourism, Education, Narmada & Kalpasar, PM Jan-Dhan Yojana, Science & Technology to name a few.

At this occasion, school students performed Surya Namaskar and exhibited power of mind & body through various Yoga Asanas. Cultural program was also performed by the children and women of nearby regions. Dog & Horse Show and a daredevil Motorcycle Show also drew the attention and attraction of the large number of people and dignitaries attending the function.

Apart from HE the Governor and the Hon. Chief Minister, MPs, MLAs, senior bureaucrats and several other dignitaries were also present to witness this grand scenario of state level celebration of 66th Republic Day.
