It is to transform itself in to a mass movement the “Chalo Taluke programme” is going to empower the local-bodies and strengthen the Taluka-Teams to prepare a plan for comprehensive development.

Gujarat which has witnessed massive development in education, healthcare, public distribution system, industrial development, double-digit agriculture growth is set to realize the vision of Gram-Swaraj by strengthening the decentralization of power, and effectively implementing the decentralized system of planning process. Taking power to people, a new culture that would not only take up development beyond all constrains but will also fulfill the aspirations of the citizens in general.

Gujarat's impressive achievements in key areas of human development are to be featured into the presentations. Taking in to account the local development needs in its right earnest, the blueprint for future development of that particular taluka is to be prepared in a way so that it can fulfill its requirements. Plans are drawn up to arrange a meet with eminent citizens at all the 225 taluka. Sharing the best practices the Chalo -Taluke Programme is aimed to benefit the Taluka-Team by playing a catalyst role in fulfilling the vision of our founding fathers towards rural development and rural India.

The programme is aimed at helping the Karmayogies to perform better at work, executing their duties with satisfaction and boosting the spirit of service among them. Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi is a visionary, under his dynamic leadership Gujarat has crossed many milestones, had floated the idea of ‘Aapano Taluko Vibrant Taluko (ATVT) ‘during the Chintan-Shibir held at Mehsana. The Chalo Taluke Programme is to evolve a new model for decentralized planning in its right earnest. The local self government institutions are to work as partners rather than a subordinate implementing agency.

For faster delivery of growth Gujarat's remarkable experiment with decentralization and the immense public participation earned over the last decade has proved to be a model for others to follow.
