CM gives blessings to 39 newlyweds

Adivasi community will emerge as a strong community in coming days accelerating the progress of Gujarat: CM

Speaking at the 14th community-marriage function of adivasi bhil community in Ahmedabad Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that adivasi community will emerge as a strong community in coming days accelerating the progress of Gujarat.

Blessing the 39 newly-wedded couples Mr. Modi said the majority of the elected tribal representatives in the district and taluka panchayat elections are youths. And most of them are highly educated. The level of education of these young tribal representatives is even higher than the average educational level of the corporators of the mega cities, which indicates that adivasi youth is going to give Gujarat a new vigor in the coming days.

Chief Minister said that in past the tribal belt of Umargam to Ambaji did not have a single school for the science stream in 12th class. The past governments were trumpeting the tribal reservation in government medical and engineering collages. But how a tribal youth would become a doctor or engineer without science stream education. While his government, he said, has opened science stream higher secondary schools in every tribal taluka which has enabled the tribal youths to go for foreign studies.

Mentioning that the majority of medal-winners in Khel Mahakumbh were from adivasi community Chief Minister said the state government also imparts training to tribal youths with a view to get them recruitment in military. Due to this, a number of Gujarati youths going to armed forces have increased.

Chief Minister praised the adivasi community as it has kept itself away from female-feticide. Even the ratio of girls is higher than boys in the community, which is commendable, he said.

Minister of State for Law Pradipsinh Jadeja extended well-wishes to the newlyweds and gave details of various pro-people schemes of the state government. Chief Minister handed over toolkit-assistance to five couples. Adivasi families from across the state were present on the occasion.
