Chinese delegation met CM Smt Anandiben Patel to deliberate upon the roadmap for sister agreements signed yesterday

Blueprint of the institutional mechanism of the MoUs will be prepared soon In a move to extend the talks regarding the sister agreements signed yesterday between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian PM Shri Narendra Modi, a Chinese delegation met Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today at Gandhinagar. The high-powered delegation comprised of Executive Vice Governor of Guangdong Xu Shaohua and Mayor of Guangzhou Chen Jianhua.

As a part of signing ceremony on September 17, an agreement was signed on establishment of twining relationship between Guangdong province and Gujarat state. On the same lines, a sister city agreement was also signed between Guangzhou and Ahmedabad. The delegation deliberated on various aspects as to how the sister agreement will result in mutual cooperation in the fields of sports, youth affairs, urban planning, infrastructure, environment, public health and exchange of economic and trade delegations. In the meeting with CM Smt Patel, the delegation also shared that the MoUs will facilitate knowledge sharing in areas of mutual interest.

CM Smt Patel expressed that an action-plan should be prepared to come up with a blueprint regarding an institutional mechanism to take forward the sister agreements. She also extended an invitation to the visiting delegation for the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit as well as the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas hosted by Gujarat this year in January. CM Smt Patel said that it would boost the economic and social ties between the two countries if China participates in these events.

The delegation expressed joy about the successful visit of Chinese President to Gujarat and the grand welcome given to him by the people of the state.
