Cultural capital of Gujarat reverberates with VADFEST, CM opens four-day cultural festival

Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt Anandiben Patel opened VADFEST, first edition of Vadodara International Art and Culture Festival today. With over 550 artists, 50 events, 15 venues and four days of unlimited fun, VADFEST is India’s biggest multi-arts, multi-venue cultural festival. During this festival, Vadodara city known for its rich culture and artistic heritage, will host people from over 40 countries across the world.

The echoes of over 10,000 drums and young voices marked the inaugural event of VADFEST, where students from over 100 schools participated in ‘Drum Circle’ and performed a theme song on ‘Swachh Bharat’. CM Smt Patel lauded the efforts put in by children towards spreading the message of ‘Swachh Bharat’ and appealed them to keep themselves committed towards the cause.

Union Minister Smt Smriti Irani was also present at the inauguration of the festival. With performances, concerts, national craft fair, theatre, fine arts exhibition, kids festival, VADFEST will prove to be a rare coming together of multiple folk styles and artists from across Gujarat and India at one place.

This event is jointly organized by Art & Cultural Foundation, Govt. of Gujarat and Gujarat Tourism. Union HRD Minister Smt. Smriti Irani, Gujarat Tourism Minister Shri Saurabhbhai Patel, Hon. Minister Shri Vijay Rupani were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
