Friday: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi while inaugurating an International Film Festival at Gandhinagar today said the state offered myriad opportunities to the film industry, with several locations for shooting ranging from tourist places and heritage sites.

It is for the first time that a four-day international film festival is being held at Gandhinagar under the joint aegis of City Pulse and Institute of Film and Television.

Several foreign films, besides films from different states of India, reflecting the culture and traditions of respective regions, are being screened at the festival.

Mr. Modi said the film industry provided opportunities to technicians, cameramen, financiers, besides actors show their skill and contribute their mite. He said that people are also aware of the Gujarati films' contribution to the society.

Famous films actress of the yester years Asha Parekh lauded the Chief Minister for his dynamic leadership qualities and good governance.

Prominent among others present included Mr. T.P. Agrawal and architect Balkrishna Doshi, besides Mr. Ashok Purohit of City Pulse.
