CM distributes grant worth Rs 2600 Cr to local bodies at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar

Gujarat CM Smt. Anandiben Patel distributed grant cheques worth Rs 2600 cr. to Municipalities, municipal corporations and urban development bodies for development works at Mahatma Mandir today. While distributing the grants, CM Smt. Patel said that grants have been distributed over to local bodies in the beginning of the financial year itself so that no project gets delayed due to lack of funds. She stated that in coming months Gujarat aims to create urban profiling for all municipal corporations and through profiling authorities will be able to understand facilities required for different areas and will be able to allocate required funds for development work of the respective areas. In this year’s budget, Rs 7250 cr was allocated to urban development out of which Rs 2600 cr has been granted to carry out developmental works today. Talking about providing self employment to urban youth through MUDRA Yojana, CM Smt. Patel explained about the various steps taken by the government to ensure that 80% workforce in industries being established in cities comprises of regional youths.

CM Smt. Patel also urged people to contribute in making the whole of Gujarat open defecation free before the 150th Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti year that is 2019. CM Smt. Patel also urged various local bodies of Guj to adopt citizen-centric approach and utilize funds optimally.
