Reaffirming GoG’s commitment towards healthcare-for-all, Guj CM dedicates well-equipped hospital in Devbhumi Dwarka

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today dedicated 150-bed hospital equipped with modern facilities at Jamkhambhaliya in newly-constituted district of Devbhumi Dwarka.

In her address, CM Smt Patel shared details of various initiatives taken by Gujarat Government towards last mile delivery of health care facilities across the state. She said that under the ongoing state-wide health camps being organized by the government, people are screened, tested and given necessary medical treatment free of cost. Under these health camps, women are screened for cervical cancer, children with cleft lips are treated, girls’ blood is tested for haemoglobin, detailed health check-up for pregnant women, among other medical treatments extended by district and sub-district hospitals and community health centres.CM Smt Patel expressed her concern that with changing climatic and living conditions, new ailments and diseases occur, because of which it is necessary to keep on undertaking constant research and study to improve health conditions of people across Gujarat, she added. In State Budget 2015-16, provisions have been made for the establishment of Public Health University and Transplantation that reaffirms government’s resolve to ensure best health care for the people of Gujarat, she informed. She said that Government of Gujarat is committed to ensure last mile delivery of healthcare for all.

In her address, CM Smt Patel shared details of the ongoing relief operations undertaken by the government in flood-like situations in areas of Banaskantha, Mehsana and Patan of Gujarat. She said that government is making all possible efforts to ensure that life is brought back to normalcy for affected people through health care, cleanliness, water and electricity supply and road connectivity.

Referring to upcoming Garib Kalyan Mela, CM Smt Patel shared that this year onwards Gujarat Government has made an important decision with the motive to empower farmers. Farmers those who have applied for more than one equipment/tool, will now be granted permission for the same, on the sidelines of Garib Kalyan Mela.

In her address, she also expressed happiness that 164 Indian fishermen are going to be released from Pakistan on August 3, who will be reunited with their families in India by August 7-8.

On the occasion CM Smt Patel also flagged off seven ambulances under 108 Emergency Ambulance Services to extend immediate preliminary care in case of medical emergency.
