Guj CM witnesses presentations of district-level initiatives & experience-sharing from leaders of social sectors

On Day 2 of the ongoing Chintan Shibir at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel witnessed presentations of successful initiatives by district administration. Collectors of Sabarkantha, Navsari, Kutch and Banaskantha made presentations on district-level initiatives undertaken by them under various projects.

Navsari district administration’s presentation gave details on initiative attempted by them towards fighting malnutrition among children under Samvedna project. CM Smt Patel added that once extremely malnourished child is identified, the health parameters of mother should also be checked and corrected so that her next child can be malnutrition-free. Similarly, if that family also has an adolescent daughter, she should also be checked and treated timely.

Sabarkantha district administration shared success of various initiatives undertaken towards tourism development and providing employment to the tribals in tourism industry. Presentation was made giving out details of peculiarities of Polo forests, its historic importance, rich wildlife and employment generation through Polo Utsav.

District administration of Kutch and Banskantha also made presentations on district wise Chintan Shibirs that they had organized. Collector of Kutch also shared details of SHARP software, which facilitates advanced intervention based on soil health card.

CM Smt Patel congratulated the officials for innovative initiatives taken up by the district administration and urged them to share their success with other parts of the state. The scope of such initiatives should be widened so that more and more people can be benefitted, she added.

This year, as a novel approach, CM Smt Patel also invited leaders and office-bearers working in various social sectors. Progressive and innovative farmers, successful cattle-rearers, leaders of best performing milk cooperatives also participated and shared their experiences at Chintan Shibir. Also, officials from Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats shared experiences of best practices undertaken by them in various areas.
