In the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi a rewarding session of Gujarat Adijati Salahkar Parishad was held today at the Chief Minister's residence. MPs present in the meet, raised about 81 issues regarding tribal welfare and suggested creative solutions.

Chief Minister said that Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana and a result-oriented implication of the New Gujarat Pattern have brought qualitative changes in the development of tribals. Combination of various tribal welfare schemes and integrated works of concerned Government departments have efficiently solved the problems of tribal regions and society.

Chief Minister also mentioned about the State Government's Abhiyan of constructing ‘Terrace Talawadi' to benefit farmers of hilly areas in conservation of rain water.

Chief Minister made the members of the Parishad conversant with various benefits obtained through an efficient implication of Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana and New Gujarat Pattern. “It is our combined responsibility to make sure that benefits are reaching to real beneficiaries in time”, he said.

In his presentation, Tribal Welfare Minister Shri Mangubhai Patel highlighted that the budget for various tribal welfare schemes has reached to Rs 3566 crore in the year 2009-10, which in the year 2005 was of Rs 1290 crore.

Parliamentary Secretary Shri Harshadbhai Vasava along with MPs was present during the session.
