Gujarat CM dedicates 150-bed general hospital at tribal-dominated Khedbrahma, initiates entry of Van Bandhus of revenue villages in 7/12 record

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today inaugurated 150-bed sub-district general hospital with modern amenities built at the cost of Rs. 10 crore at Khedbrahma in Sabarkantha district.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Smt Patel stated that the state government is committed to provide the best possible health services to the poor at their door-step and I believe that this general hospital has come up as blessing for the people of surrounding tribal dominated areas of Poshina and Vijaynagar also.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel shared that names of Van Bandhus who have been given land rights under Forest Right Act will now be entered in 7/12 (land record of rights), as I initiated the process today from Khedbrahma. She added that with their entry in 7/12, Van Bandhus will get all rights and benefits similar to that of other farmers. They will be able to pass the land to their legal heirs and get loan on it apart from getting assistance under various welfare schemes of the state government. She proudly stated that Gujarat is the first state to take this historic initiative which carries forward our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

Describing the importance of maternal health, CM Smt Patel shared that special health camps will be organised in Van Vasahati areas for health check-up and vaccination of Van Mandali women workers and children. She appealed to the people to take proper medical treatment and to stay away from superstitions about cure of any disease. She also informed about free health check-up camps organized by the health department. She talked about nutritious food which is particularly important for the children and pregnant women, and praised the leaders of the society to come forward to join hands with the government to fight malnutrition.

While distributing the cheques of Rs. 35 lakh to Sakhi Mandal women, CM Smt Patel encouraged tribal women to raise honeybee, collect Kesuda powder and neem-coated manure which has high demand and also assured to create market for such products in big cities. She also handed over cheques and kits to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.

Ramilaben Bara, Sabarkantha District BJP President Shri Prithviraj Patel, GCMMF Chairman Shri Jethabhai Patel, MLAs, District Collector, DDO, other senior government officers, social leaders, other dignitaries and people in large number.
