Gujarat CM Announces Implementation of 7th Pay Commission Recommendations in the Wider Interest of State Government Employees

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel announced to give seventh pay commission on basis of Union Government with a wider interest of State Government employees from August 1, 2016.

As per the matrix fixed in the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, about 14.60% to 25% raise in salaries will be given to Class-I to Class-IV Government employees and officers as fixed by the pay commission.

As decided by the Union Government to accept the recommendations made by the seventh pay commission from Date 1st January, 2016; accepting and implementing these recommendations in Gujarat from 1st August, 2016 as well.

As a result of the pro-employee decision made by CM Smt Patel, about 4.65 Lac State Government employees and 4.12 Lac pensioners would be benefitted.

It is worth to notice that, the Union Government is yet to decide after considering about other wages, the State Government will have to review as per the announcement made by the Union Government with consideration of Pay Amendment Committee and Cabinet Sub Committee as well. The detailed announcement of orders regarding this decision will be made by the State Finance Department.
