Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi and B.J.P. President Shri Nitin Gadkari inaugurated an exhibition on Sand Sculptors at Porbandar Sea-Coasts today. The exhibition is held on the theme- Gandhian philosophy. They were impressed to witness the brilliant sculpting skills of artists.

Chief Minister said that the sand-sculptors may offer immense impetus to tourism industry. He expressed his commitment to position Gujarat on Global tourist circuit. Beautiful coastlines, Asiatic lions, Somanath- Tirth, rich cultural heritage, Shrikrushna temple-Dwarka have potential to garner tourist's attention. State is making persistent endeavors to promote Tourism.

On the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Sand-Sculpture competition was organised at Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma. “Gandhian Values are very much relevant today; it remains towering inspirations to the world. It offers effective solutions to the crisis of Global Warming. It spreads the message- to love nature- conserve environment,” added C.M. Chief Minister announced that the exhibition on the theme- Gandhijee and Environment- would also take place next year.

Chief Minister reiterated his commitment to promote tourism; it has potential to generate massive employment opportunities, with minimum investment. Following the path trodden by Mahatma Gandhi, State has made committed endeavors to ameliorate living conditions of poor and deprived classes.

B.J.P. President Shri Nitin Gadkari lauded the brilliant craftsmanship of contestants. “Credit goes to Chief Minister for implementing innovations, as a result of it, the competitions and exhibitions are organised on Gandhian philosophy at his birth-town. I am privileged to commence my Gujarat's tour from here,” he added.

He compared Gandhijee's life and philosophy with the ideologies of Pandit Din Dayaljee. He cited many similarities. Politics should not be limiting it up to power play, the development and progress of the poorest of the poor remains its top agenda, it ought to be devoted to cause of nationalism and social objectives. Chief Minister of Gujarat has taken the right path, sincerely working for the betterment and progress of deprived and poor people; he has shown the path to the nation. Gujarat has undertaken the cause of social welfare in the right earnest; the Garib Kalyan Mela Abhiyan has proved it.

State B.J.P. President Shri Purushottam Rupala, Finance Minister Shri Vajubhai Vala, M.P. Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, Shri Nimishbhai Oodedara, Shri Dhirubhai Thakarar, eminent leaders were among the others who attended the inauguration ceremony.
