Guj Govt to set-up Transplant University & Public Health University, frame Organ Transplant Policy – CM

Gujarat Government will soon frame its Organ Transplant Policy, and also set up a Transplant University and a Public Health University, Chief Minister of Gujarat Smt Anandiben Patel announced at Vadodara today.

Inaugurating the Vibrant VCCI-2014 Mega Industrial Exhibition, organized by the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), she emphasized the need for setting up the two new universities in an attempt to take healthcare to the next level.

Mrs. Patel, who also went around the 500 stalls set up at the exhibition ground, said the exhibition should provide an ideal ground for MSMEs to showcase their latest products and innovations as well as serve as the learning ground and source of inspiration for the young. The exhibition is in the run-up to the state’s biennial flagship event, Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit (VGGIS), to be held from January 11 to 13, 2015.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that staging six successful editions of VGGIS has resulted in several foreign investors lining up to make huge investment in Gujarat. As many as eight countries joining Gujarat as Partner Countries in the seventh edition is also no small achievement, she said.

CM Smt Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Make in India’ has become a mantra for development, as it opened up the innovative ideas for ‘Skill India’ and ‘Digital India’, not to lose sight of a ‘Clean India’, either. She reiterated her government’s commitment not to lag behind in the race.

Talking about rapid urbanization and growth of mega cities, she said the government is seeking answer to the issue through smart cities and Metro Rail projects for cities like Ahmedabad.

Finance and Industries Minister Saurabh Patel said that Gujarat had already emerged as the growth engine of India. He exuded confidence that VGGIS-15 would set up new benchmarks under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel in the State. He asked the entrepreneurs to take advantage of the state government’s new Electronic Policy.
