CM initiates dialogue with tribal population at Chhota Udepur

The 2-day celebration of the 56th foundation day of Gujarat is being held at the newly formed Chotta Udepur district. As a part of the celebration, Hon’ble CM Smt. Anandiben Patel initiated dialogue with the people of Pavi Jetpur taluka and Bodeli taluka. CM Smt. Patel in her address at Pavi Jetpur informed women about the various schemes implemented by the government for healthcare, education and economic empowerment of women. On this occasion, CM Smt. Patel distributed cheques for encouragement of Anganwadi official-helper women who performed the best work. Also, she distributed aid in the form of equipment to beneficiaries of Gujarat government’s women-oriented schemes. CM Smt. Patel also appealed to the women of Chotta Udepur district to take up a pledge to make Chotta Udepur the first district in the state with 100 percent house-toilet facilities.

Commending the efforts of tribal women, CM Smt. Patel said that if only these women had received education 25 years ago in Congress administration, then they would have made huge strides in progress till now. To ensure that the competence of such women contributes to the development of the state, the Gujarat government has established such an infrastructure of education that not even a single son/daughter of the state remains deprived of education. At Pavi Jetpur, CM Smt. Patel engaged in a conversation with the women of Mahila Suraksha Samiti. She also visited the exhibition organized there.

The Chief Minister addressed enthusiastic youth and distributed relevant tool-aid to tribal youth under diverse youth related government schemes, in the youth conference held at Bodeli. CM Smt. Patel expressed her desire that youth advance their career growth by enrolling themselves in the skill development training provided by the state government. Taking advantage of their strong physical ability; the tribal youth join Rakshashakti University and contribute to the security of the nation, the CM further asserted. Explaining the framework that the state government has set up to facilitate organic farming, CM Smt. Patel said that the government has made arrangements for organic farming education and also provides a market for organic products.

Payal Rathva, a resident of Chhota Udepur, describing her success story, said that with the financial assistance from the state government, she has taken training in Nadiad Sports Academy and now she is going to represent India in archery contest to be held in Mongolia. Chief Minister gave her blessings and congratulated Payal for her success.

As a part of Gujarat Gaurav Divas celebration, the CM initiated a conversation with Student Police Cadets (SPC) in Bodeli, Chhota Udepur. The Chief Minister had a stimulating Q&A session with the youngsters and advised them to study sincerely and contribute to the development of the society. The cadets displayed march-past on this occasion and the CM honored the best cadets. The Chief Minister further urged the youngsters to acquire relevant information about Sickel-Cell Disease- prevalent in tribal areas and to spread awareness in their villages.

It is noteworthy that a state-wide program of student police cadets is being run by Home Department aiming to instill into the youth the values of respect for law, patriotism, fearlessness and social service. 1667 students from 21 schools in the district of Chhota Udepur are currently being trained under this program. On this occasion, some of the trained youth spoke of the benefits the program offered them.

The Chief Minister had a direct conversation with the members of Van Mandali and the residents of rural areas. Knowing how the hard-working people of tribal areas became self-sufficient through the utilization of forest products and through environment preservation, the CM expressed great joy. Getting aware of the discomforts in some villages regarding water, roads, S.T. commute and alike during the direct dialogue, the Chief Minister directed authorities to bring a quick solution to the problem. Making an argument of building wells for rainwater harvesting in home-setting to retain the rainwater in the village, the CM concluded with the invitation for participation and involvement of all citizens in the celebrations of the 56th Gujarat Foundation Day.

While the tribal district of Chhota Udepur has become the host for the celebration, the whole district is excited about the event and consequently, the entire town of Chhota Udepur has become vibrant with lights.
