Gujarat CM dedicates state-of-the-art Trauma Centre, built at the cost of Rs. 125 cr at Ahmedabad’s civil hospital

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel dedicated state-of-the-art Trauma Centre at Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad today. The six storey trauma centre, restructured at the cost of Rs.125 crore, has 362 beds, 50 ICUs and 36 Operation Theatres. Moreover, it also has provision for landing air-ambulance.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel felicitated top 10 out of 79 health centres with shield, certificate and cheque for winning Government of India’s ‘Kayakalp’ award for demonstrating high level of cleanliness and hygiene. She said that medical waste can cause disease outbreak and therefore it is important to work towards clean, hygienic and infection-free hospitals. She also talked about her vision to make Gujarat open defecation free and shared that the target of 100% toilets is already achieved in all the 8 Municipal Corporations, 67 Municipalities and 3200 villages.

In her address, CM Smt Patel stated that any medical emergency, if not properly responded immediately, can pose risk to life. She said that it is the primary responsibility of the government to improve health services and bring qualitative changes in health infrastructure. She congratulated the team of Civil Hospital for winning the faith of the patients with their humanitarian approach in providing medical services.

CM Smt Patel also gave a glimpse of the various health initiatives of the state government like state-wide health screening camp, MA Vatsalya Yojana, etc. and requested doctors to spread the awareness about the health schemes among poor patients. She also spoke about benefits of this drive which has saved many women from cancer due to timely diagnosis and treatment provided free of charge by the state government.

CM Smt Patel said that there has been a positive change observed in the health services. She also expressed desire to fulfill all the necessary requirements stated by the hospitals and assured that the government is ready to allocate the required funds in the budget to undertake modern and visionary health care services in the state.

Health Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel, Minister of State Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Law Minister Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja, Ahmedabad Mayor Shri Gautambhai Shah, Medical Suprintendent of Civil Hospital Dr. Prabhakar, MLAs and other dignitaries remained present on the occasion.
