Gujarat CM Personally Enrolls Students on the Launching of 14th Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Drive at Bhat in Ahmedabad

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel launched the 14th three days Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani drive for rural Gujarat at Bhat Primary School in Daskroi taluka of Ahmedabad this morning and personally enrolled 71 children including 31 girls as well as 20 Anganwadi children.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel stated that considering the importance of education, the state government is continually working to ensure 100% enrollment and to take education standard on higher level in every possible manner. I am happy to share that thanks to the consistent efforts of the BJP led State Government and with the support of community leaders, corporates, activists and the society itself, we have been able to achieve almost 100% enrollment and the dropout ratio has also significantly come down from 37% to mere 2%.

CM Smt Patel, in her speech, expressed her commitment to ensure that all the children enroll for standard 9 after passing 8th standard. The state government will enroll students in class-9 for the first time through this drive, she added. She shared that the government keeps close watch on graduation of students from primary level to secondary level.

CM Smt Patel told that the state government has made radical changes in the formal education system with a view to create a better future for our children. Talking about nurturing inherent abilities of children, she said that since every child is unique and has a genius inside irrespective of his social status, they should also be encouraged to take part in the extra-curricular activities organized by the state government with an aim to understand the hidden potential. She also stressed on value based education and talked about preserving historical languages like Sanskrit.

Talking about the achievements of BJP government in the field of education in Gujarat, CM Smt Patel shared that we have added more medical and engineering seats during last few years than it was there during past Congress ruled 40 years just to ensure that our students need not go outside Gujarat for higher education.

CM Smt Patel also talked about available options after SSC and said that one can opt for vocational training courses at ITI, Skill Development Program or any other diploma course run by the state government after 10th without being disappointed.

CM Smt Patel briefly gave details of the ‘Smart Village’ scheme and added that 100% school admission is one of the important criteria. She also talked about the importance of nutrition in mothers and children and gave the glimpse of various health measures taken by the government including providing nutritional food for pregnant women and neonatal babies to prevent mortality. She appealed to take benefits of the free health screening and treatment drive of the state government for the happy and healthy future of their children. She wished all the newly enrolled children and appealed everybody to be a part of our mission of abolishing illiteracy from our state to create Smart Gujarat.
