Moving ahead towards becoming auto-hub, Guj CM inaugurates Maruti Suzuki’s new plant at Hansalpur

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel laid the foundation stone of Maruti Suzuki car manufacturing plant at Hansalpur, Ahmedabad. Mr Osamu Suzuki, CEO and Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation and Mr Takeshi Yagi, Ambassador of Japan to India, were also present on the occasion. The newly inaugurated plant will roll out more than 2.50 lakh cars annually.

CM Smt Patel stated that the coming of leading companies like Maruti Suzuki in Gujarat, reflects the development and industry-friendly environment of the state. This opens up innumerable job opportunities for the people of the state, she added. CM Smt Patel appealed the people to educate themselves, attain required skill-training and make the optimum use of the job opportunities. This will, in turn, lead to sustainable development of the state.

CM Smt Patel also spoke about the success of recently concluded Vibrant Gujarat Summit where delegates and dignitaries from more than 120 countries had participated. She said that enormous participation from across the countries reflected their trust on the consistent development of Gujarat and India. Speaking about Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Skill India, Digital India, Make in India and Clean India, CM Smt Patel said that it is our responsibility to together contribute to the cause. Gujarat state government is committed to proactively contribute to these nation-wide campaigns and prove to be a trend-setter, she added.

On the occasion, Mr Suzuki contributed Rs 10 lakh towards Mukhyamantri Swachhata Nidhi for building toilets.
