Guj CM congratulates children and youth for their creative drawings, rewards 13 winners from over 300 participants

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today launched a drawing competition for children across Gujarat on the theme of ‘Mahatma Gandhi and Swachhata’ at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. On January 30 – Gandhi Nirvaan Divas, over 1 crore children spanning from pre-primary schools to universities painted their imagination of ‪Clean India. Following that, 5-day Summer Camp was organized to give expert training to 616 children who were declared as winners in statewide competition. Out of those, excluding very young kids, 333 children once again gathered at Mahatma Mandir to sketch their idea of Clean India.

The winners of this competition were awarded at the Bal Chitrakar Sammelan, were 13 children from over 300 participants were rewarded with prizes of Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000. Artists from Gujarat and renowned art faculties were present to judge and encourage children.

In her address, CM Smt Patel said that Gujarat government is moving ahead in the direction of promoting inner talents of children and youth of today’s generation. She called on teachers and parents to give equal importance to extra-curricular activities that will help identify talent of children and sharpen it further.
