Gujarat CM Dedicates and Initiates Various Development Works in Ahmedabad

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel dedicated and initiated various development and public welfare works of Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today in the evening.

Delivering on the promise of making Gujarat a slum-free state, CM Smt Patel dedicated 876 MIG & LIG houses to the beneficiaries in Nikol area and laid foundation stone for the construction of another 812 EWS-1 affordable houses of AUDA constructed as a part of ‘Mukhymantri Gruh Yojna’ and ‘Pradhanmantri Aavas Yojna’ for economically weaker families residing in Ahmedabad. She also conducted draw for 1228 LIG-2 houses, 1344 MIG-1 houses in Gota ward.

CM Smt Patel also performed ground-breaking of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) 48 MLD at Vasna to be developed at the cost of Rs. 78.56 crore and upgradation of existing 70 MLD STP by additional 35 MLD at Vinzol at the cost of Rs. 70.77 crore to provide cleaner environment to residents. Alongside, she launched work for Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) in Danilimda area. Furthermore, she performed ground breaking ceremony for construction of new building of renowned Nagri Eye Hospital in Ahmedabad.

Providing robust infrastructure to the people of Ahmedabad, CM Smt Patel also laid foundation stone for flyovers at Anjali Crossroads and Income Tax Circle to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 99.88 crore and Rs. 65.55 crore respectively, which will ease the traffic woes at the ever busy junctions in the city, she said.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel expressed her clear opinion that this government gave an opportunity to fulfill their dreams of economically backward and poor people of Gujarat to construct their own homes. State Government gave priority to provide houses to economically backward families of Gujarat. Further, she said that houses with facilities have been provided to the families living in urban populace. 5 to 6 lakh poor families have been provided houses till now. The state government is committed to provide another 5 lakh houses to poor families by next two years. She stated that the state government has made inclusive planning to provide infrastructural facilities to the urban people. She also said that we have given importance to the careful usage of water, thus we have initiated water treatment plants with planning to recycle the sewage water to purify the dirty water and could be re-used it in gardens and other works as well. While the state government consistently tries to improve civic facilities for the people, she appealed to the citizens to contribute towards making ‘Smart Ahmedabad’.

On the occasion various organizations-institutions handed over cheques to CM Smt Patel worth more than Rs. 10 lakh for ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Kelavni Nidhi’.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Urban Housing Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary, Ahamedabad Mayor Shri Gautambhai Shah, Deputy Mayor Smt Pramodaben Sutariya, MLAs Shri Babubhai J. Patel, Shri Vallabhbhai Kakadiya, Shri Sureshbhai Patel, Vice-chairman of the State Planning Commission Shri Narhari Amin, Municipal Commissioner Shri Mukesh Kumar, AUDA Chairman Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Gujarat Housing Board Chairman Shri Vivekbhai Patel, officials of AUDA, AMC and GHB, Chair-persons of various committees, Municipal Councilors and beneficiaries were remained present.
