CM Anandiben Patel launches i-Kisan Portal Mobile Apps for disseminating farming info

Gujarat’s newly elected first woman Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel today gave full credit for the success of Gujarat’s Green-Revolution Model & Krushi-Mahotsav-2014 to farmers of the state.

Smt. Patel inaugurated the 10th chapter of Krushi Mahotsav- a yearly event which has been initiated from year-2005, at Morbi town of Saurashtra region here this morning.

With an aim to make the farming information available on their fingertips, the Chief Minister had also launched i-Kisan Portal Mobile Apps. This Mobile Apps will provide instant, updated information such as prices of agri produces at farm-markets, availability of fertilizers and others to the farmers of Gujarat.

The inaugural function was also attended by Gujarat Agriculture Minister Babubhai Bokhiriya and other cabinet ministers – Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, Saurabh Patel, and ministers of state, MPs, MLAs, and other government officials. In addition to them, BJP state president R. C. Faldu and farmers and women from six districts of Saurashtra region had attended the function.

Addressing the large number of farmers and women, who defying the scorching heat of mid-summer had arrived to attend the Krushi Mahotsav-2014, Smt. Patel said, “The agriculture development ratio of Gujarat has touched the remarkable mark of 17% and agriculture produces was 1.11 lakh crore. The yearly Krushi Mahotsav event was initiated by the former chief minister, also a newly sworn-in Prime Minister Narendra Modi in year-2005. Mr. Modi’s approach to adopt scientific methods in farming has completely revolutionized the farm-economy of the Gujarat.”

With a view to enhancing the milk production through animal husbandry along with farming, the navigation of the milk producing co-operative societies would be handed over to the Nari-Shakti (women power) of the Gujarat, she said. And for that she urged to launch a drive at the district level to encourage the administrative power of the Jilla Mahila Doodh Utpadak Mandlis (District Women Milk Produce Committee) be handed over to women leaders.

In this regards, she set targets and preferred to create an environment for the healthy competition about to inspire drip irrigation system-micro irrigation system in all the districts of Gujarat.

By water harvesting in Saurashtra-Kutch regions and by “SAUNI” Yojna the waters of river Narmada would be brought to 115 water-lakes. She gave confidence that now the water of river Narmada will change the entire dry region.

Along with the Krishi Mahotsava, at the Animal Husbandry Mela, CM also observed the treatments and operations of diseased of the animal and their care. Gujarat has launched a massive drive of animal mercy, under this more than 6 crores animals have been treated at over 30,000 animal health melas. Beside these, 122 animals were completely cured from their diseases. For all these efforts, Chief Minister had congratulated the workers and others involved in this.

At the beginning of the Krishi Mahotsava, Smt. Patel had honored progressive farmers by giving them a shawl and award. And she had also honored the students of the Krishi University of Junagarh, for their efficiencies.

On this occasion Gujarat Agriculture Minister Mr. Babubhai Bokhiriya, District-in-charge Minister Mr. Saurabh Patel, Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and BJP State President Mr. R.C. Faldu and State Ministers had also delivered their occasional speeches.
