Gujarat CM Shri Vijay Rupani Rings the Opening Bell at Mumbai Stock Exchange

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani today rang the opening bell at Mumbai Stock Exchange (BSE) by 9.15 am and said that stock exchange is a barometer into Indian Economy. After the brave and bold step taken by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on currency demonetization, Indian economy is changing significantly and he considered this step to make significant positive changes in Indian economy.

CM Shri Rupani said that while Gujarat has close relation with stock exchange, youth of Gujarat has created their unique identity in financial knowledge, understanding of market and for their risk management skills not only in India but across the globe as well.

To push this talent Gujarat has initiated GIFT city project at a cost of 20 billion dollars. Central Government has notified GIFT city as the first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) of the nation. Shri Rupani expressed his happiness that BSE is going to commence its trading operations from GIFT city. He said with pride that on the occasion of forthcoming Vibrant Summit-2017, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate BSE in GIFT city of Gandhinagar.

He added that since the BSE will be housed into GIFT city, foreign companies will approve its share listing with foreign currency and trade with Singapore and Dubai will become possible.

Inviting association of Industry leaders in Vibrant Gujarat-2017, he said that Gujarat is peaceful, secure place and having friendly atmosphere. It has tax facility along with infrastructural facilities. For the first time, Nobel Prize winners will remain present in Vibrant Gujarat and share their skill knowledge.

On this occasion, BSE MD Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, Minister of State for Industries and Mines Shri Rohit Patel, Chief Secretary Shri J. N. Singh and Additional Chief Secretary to Industries and Mines Department Shri P. K. Taneja were also remained present.
